Concept Car - Bentley Grand Convertible

Concept Car: The Bentley Grand Convertible

Inspired by decades of elegant design and constructed by hand with traditional coach building methods, Bentley’s Grand Convertible concept is a convertible like no other. Featuring a distinctive, subtle exterior with squared curves, wood accents, and bi-tone coloring, the Grand Convertible invokes everything you’ve come to love about Bentley without causing a scene. It’s the perfect example of understated luxury. more The Bentley Grand Convertible is merely a concept car -- for now. Bentley is currently showing off the elegant roadster in the hopes of assessing interest in a broader launch. Says CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer: “We are eagerly awaiting the response of our customers to this car. We will ensure that this car — if it reaches the roads – will be a highly exclusive, extremely limited collector’s piece. This concept demonstrates Bentley’s ability to create a pinnacle convertible Grand Tourer, while embodying elegance beyond compare. With this car we combine the opulent Mulsanne experience with the full sensory indulgence of open-air touring, continuing to unite luxury and performance in new ways.” Performance and Luxury Combined There’s more to the Grand Convertible than looks. The car has its foundation in the Bentley Muslanne Speed, and includes a 530-horsepower V8 engine that generates an unstoppable 811 lb-ft of torque. The 6.75-liter twin-turbo engine makes the Bentley Grand Convertible more than a collector’s car designed to sit in a garage; this is a luxury roadster that begs to be driven. The interior is lush with features and highlights you’d expect from the Bentley name. Luxurious seating with lofted diamond quilting (hand-stitched, of course), a cutting-edge driver information system, and elegant trim combine to make the Grand Convertible feel like the pinnacle of luxury. The roadster comfortably seats four adults thanks to its open cabin and yacht-like design. You’ve never driven anything quite like the Grand Convertible. The Road to Production According to Bentley, the new Grand Convertible is currently production ready. In other words, if consumers seem like they’re interested and Bentley feels as though the market is ready, we could be seeing Grand Convertibles on the road sooner rather than later (though not many, if Bentley’s commitment to exclusivity holds true). Though “no final decision has been made,” according to Bentley North America spokesman Corey Proffitt, Bentley is paying close attention to the reception the Grand Convertible receives during its promotional tour. The real question, of course, is “who would buy the car?” With most auto buyers focusing on pickup trucks and affordable commuter cars, Bentley faces a tough challenge in introducing what will most likely be an expensive luxury convertible in a market that’s already fairly niche and competitive. The closest competitor to the Grand Convertible is likely the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe, which means Bentley could be aiming directly at Rolls-Royce rather than at other more affordable brands (with an MSRP of around $500,000, the Phantom shouldn’t be hard to undercut). Regardless of market forces and competitors, the Grand Convertible could also help round out Bentley’s offerings by becoming its marquee convertible. Execs must be hoping that the full production of a dedicated ultra-luxury convertible can flush out some new customers and increase the automaker’s overall market share. Rolls-Royce has essentially dominated this space for decades without challenge; the Grand Convertible might be Bentley’s first salvo in a full-on market war. Bentley isn’t resting on its laurels with the Grand Convertible. The company is also working on a mostly-secret SUV project, which will add additional layers to Bentley’s sales strategy and open it to and even larger selection of high-end customers. Unfortunately, the only thing we can do now is wait to see where Bentley decides to go.

What to Look for in a Test Drive of a Luxury Vehicle

Whether you are shopping for your first luxury vehicle or you’ve purchased this type of vehicle before, there are a number of things you should be looking for during your test drive. Far too many buyers come into luxury car dealerships without knowing what they should be looking for when test driving a luxury vehicle. The reality is that there are significant differences in what to expect when driving vehicles such as those sold at Naples Luxury Imports and those sold by mainstream automobile dealers. Knowing these differences can and will go a long way towards helping you to make the right decision. more Power, Acceleration, and Stopping Power When you plan to invest in a luxury automobile, you have a right to expect it to perform like one. Most luxury cars have high performance, powerful V8 or bigger engines under the hood. When you take them for a test drive, you should experience instant throttle response and unrivaled 0-60 mph acceleration. Given the amount of time and money invested in research, luxury cars should significantly outperform any other car on the market. Since you are buying a luxury vehicle with a large powerful engine under the hood, you need a braking system that is capable of keeping all of this power under control. Many now come equipped with Brembo brakes, the same brand used by a number of professional racing teams. On your test drive you should be looking at facts such as 60 -0 mph braking times, overall braking times, four-wheel antilock braking, and electronic braking assistance systems. Out on the Road While outstanding performance is a very important aspect of any luxury vehicle, there is far more to judging the performance of these cars than just how much horsepower is under the hood. Whether you are interested in a Maserati, Porsche, or Bentley, the vehicle you choose should exhibit zero lag when turning at any speed. These vehicles are designed with superior highly tuned suspensions and should corner without any sign of wallowing or loss of control at any speed. Bear in mind many are designed to handle the road at triple digit speeds. Steering should be tight and responsive, and the suspension should provide you with a comfortable ride yet ensure you are fully in control at all times. A View from the Inside While the exterior of any luxury vehicle can be quite exquisite to look at, you will be spending most of your time on the inside.  When looking over the interior of your potential new luxury car, keep in mind that these cars are intended to be a cut above the rest. This means the fit and finish should be absolutely perfect. These cars are built with the highest quality materials available, every inch of the interior should reflect this. During your test drive, there should be absolutely no unusual noises such as rattles, squeaks, or wind noises. If this is your first luxury car, it is very important that you set your expectations far higher than they have been in the past when purchasing mainstream vehicles. Those small imperfections you have been used to ignoring in the past become major flaws in a luxury automobile. Bear in mind that the majority of luxury vehicles have been built by hand, this means a fair amount of proverbial blood, sweat, and tears have been poured into the process. The hand stitched leather seats should be amongst the most comfortable car seats you have ever sat in. Not only should they be comfortable, but also should be designed in such a way as to keep you firmly held in place, this is especially important in the more high performance vehicles such as Porsche and Maserati. Beware however that many of the top performance luxury cars may offer limited visibility. In certain newer models this particular issue has been overcome with the use of rear view and all-around video monitoring systems and a full color LCD viewscreen incorporated into the infotainment system built into the vehicle's dashboard. From the ultimate in quality fit and finish to massive under the hood performance, taking a test drive in a luxury car should be an experience you will never forget. Schedule your test drive today, by using this quick online form. But bear in mind you are paying a premium price for a luxury vehicle, and as such, you should set your expectations high. You should never settle for anything less than perfection from bumper to bumper.

Maserati Quattroporte Zegna

Introducing the Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition

Since first being introduced to discerning buyers the Maserati Quattroporte has always created a perfect symbiosis of pure power and elegant design. The Limited Edition Maserati Quattroporte Zegna could be compared to a hand cut and tailored silk suit, while its German cousins are more of a simple and very conservative double-breasted business suit. The new Limited Edition model truly symbolizes all that we have come to expect from this magnificent Italian automaker and is sure to please discerning drivers in the Naples, FL area. more Who is Ermenegildo Zegna? Ermenegildo Zegna is one of the most respected and world famous fashion designers working exclusively for today's wealthy elite. If you find that you have not yet heard of this elite fashion house, it may be because the only way to visit one of the fine boutiques where their clothing is sold, is by invitation only. With this in mind, it is easy to see how the Limited Edition Maserati Quattroporte Zegna has been crafted to appeal to those who have impeccable tastes. The Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition has been crafted with a wide range of exquisite materials and incredibly smooth flowing lines. Thanks to this and many other features, the Quattroporte is sure to appeal to a wide range of buyers in and around Fort Myers and Cape Coral.  As you walk up to the Quattroporte Zegna your eyes can't help but to be drawn to a paint job that is one of the most expensive ever used on an automobile. Maserati has layered aluminum pigments in the paint that not only provide incredible depth to the Platinum Silk finish, but also give the impression that it is made from an unbelievably smooth layer of aluminum weave. There is more to the Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition Maserati Quattro than a spectacular finish. The Inside Is a Beautiful Blend On the inside you will find colors that are warm and inviting along with seating that blends modern function with classic looks seamlessly. The seats are covered with a fine grain leather and wool upholstery that has been crafted from the exact same wools used to craft Zegna's finest suits. They are much finer than the furniture found in most people's homes. Wood trim is crafted from open pore walnut, and you will receive a spare bolt of cloth with your new Quattroporte just in case you should happen to spill your espresso. Nothing has been left to chance as there are 19 other custom accessories included with every one of these spectacular automobiles. Raw Italian Power Unleashed Of course no true Italian luxury car would be complete without plenty of power hiding under the hood. It is in fact (or at least if it isn't, it should be) a law in Italy that all cars built in Italy are intended to be driven as though the German hordes were invading and there was only one road out of town. For this reason alone, you will find that the 523 horsepower V8 engine under the hood produces a massive 524 lb-ft of torque. All of this power propels the Limited Edition Maserati Quattroporte Zegna from 0-60 mph in a heart stopping 4.6 seconds. And if this is not enough the Quattroporte tops out at an unbelievable 191 mph, perfect for the Autobahns of Germany or your local Interstate. For the 2015 model year, Maserati has plans to build no more than one hundred of these amazing cars, but you can count on them selling fast as they are part of the 100th anniversary celebration of this vaunted Italian automaker. If you are ready to buckle yourself into a Limited Edition Maserati Quattroporte Zegna visit Naples Luxury Imports at 900 Tamiami Trail, North Naples, FL 34102, visit us online at naplesluxuryimports.com.

How to Take Care of theTires on a Luxury Vehicle

There are many steps you can take to ensure your luxury vehicle continues to perform its best. One of the most important of these is learning how to take care of your tires. Whether you drive an Aston Martin or a Rolls-Royce, taking care of your tires will not only help to keep you safer on the roads but will ensure your luxury vehicle performs its best and attains maximum fuel economy. more The Basics of Proper Tire Care From the high performance tires on a Maserati to the touring tires on a Bentley, there are four very important factors you must consider with regard to getting the most out of your tires in terms of safety and longevity. Each of these plays an equal part and are your responsibility to keep an eye on and maintain on a regular basis. These are: Tire Pressure: If you drive around Southwest Florida on tires that are under inflated, your tires will wear unevenly, can overheat, and can lead to loss of control resulting in potentially disastrous accidents. Tread Wear: As the tires on your luxury vehicle begin to wear this can affect their ability to maintain their grip on the road, you should inspect the tread depth on a regular basis. Tire Rotation: The best way to keep the tires on your Aston Martin or Bentley wearing evenly is to keep them rotated on a regular basis. Most tire manufacturers recommend you have your tires rotated every 5,000 to 8,000 miles. Alignment: No matter whether you are driving a Rolls-Royce or a Maserati a single pothole can knock your front end of alignment. This can lead to uneven tire wear and a high risk of blowout and accidents. Tips for Maintaining Your Luxury Vehicle's Tires Follow these tips to help you maintain your luxury vehicle's tires and ensure you and those around you will be safe on the Florida roadways. Checking Your Tire Pressures You should always check the pressure in your vehicle's tires when they are cold. You should do this at least once a month and before going on a long trip. If you have to drive to get to an air pump, check the pressure before you leave and adjust the final pressure setting to match what you recorded when you checked them cold. Always replace the valve stem cap when done to keep water and dirt out of the valve stem as this can cause leaks. Don't forget to check the spare at the same time. Checking Your Tread Wear According to most state laws and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, you should replace the tires on your luxury vehicle when the tread is worn down to 2/32 of an inch. All of today's tires have built-in wear bar indicators. When the tread on your tires is worn down to the point at which it is even with the wear bars, they should be replaced. You can also use a penny to check the tread. Place the coin into the tread with the top of Abe's head pointed at the tire. If you can see the top of his head, your tires are worn out. This is also a good time to check for uneven wear and physical damage. Replace damaged tires to ensure you and your family will continue to be safe. Rotating Your Tires The main reason you should rotate the tires on your Maserati or Aston Martin is uneven wear. Since the weight of your luxury vehicle is distributed unevenly, it can cause your tires to wear at different rates. By rotating them, you can help them to wear more evenly and reduce your risk of blowout. Always check and adjust your tire pressures, some vehicles have different pressures for front and rear tires. Wheel Alignment The alignment of your luxury vehicle's suspension will have a direct impact on how your tires wear, as well as how your vehicle steers. The potholes and rough spots on the roads around Naples can cause the suspension to become out of alignment. Many of today's vehicles require four wheel alignments. Your owner's manual can tell you what type of alignment your vehicle requires and how frequently it should be checked. By following these simple steps and taking care of the tires on your luxury vehicle, they will provide you with maximum tread wear and safety. Checking them will only take a few minutes each month and could save your life or that of others on the road.  For the ultimate in tire and luxury vehicle care visit us at Naples Luxury Imports at 900 Tamiami Trail North, Naples, FL 34102, and we buy used cars too. New 2014 Maserati Ghibli

When brothers Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, and Ernesto truly devoted themselves to the pursuit of automotive excellence in 1914 with the launch of Maserati, could they have imagined the influence and legacy their contributions would make on the industry? Probably not. But with roots firmly in racing, and generation after generation of engineering visionaries at the helm, acclaim and world-wide recognition of Maserati was assured. And perhaps no other car has been able to capture both the spirit of Maserati and the devotion of enthusiasts quite like the extraordinary Maserati Ghibli, available now, at Naples Luxury Imports. more Maserati History In 1966, the original Maserati Ghibli was a two-door, 2+2, V8-powered grand tourer. The heavy steel body and characteristic long, shark-shaped nose caused a stir in styling, and the front-placed quad-cam 310 bhp V8 engine, which could rocket you from 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds, immediately sent shockwaves through the industry; this car not only looked fast, it was fast. Luxury updates at the time included two 13.2 gallon fuel tanks, pop-up headlamps, leather sport seats, and alloy wheels. In 1969, both the convertible Ghibli Spider and the marginally more powerful Ghibli SS (335 hp) were released. Sadly, the original run of the car only lasted until 1973. In 1992, the Maserati revived the Ghibli, with the Ghibli II, offering a 2.0 liter, V6 for the Italian and European markets, and a 2.8 liter V6 for all other countries. Much of this model took its cues from the Maserati Biturbo, which could be seen echoed in the doors, interior, and body. More improvements/additions were made to the Ghibli II in 1994 and 1996, which included new interior styling, new wheels, adjustable electronic suspension, ABS brakes, spoked alloy 17" wheels, and both suspension and transmission revisions. Though popular, the Ghibli II was discontinued in 1997. Maserati Ghibli Overview Today And finally, after much anticipation, 2014 saw the birth of a brand new Maserati Ghibli. Naples Luxury Imports is proud to showcase this third generation luxury sports car, which has been styled and tuned as only the Italian masters at Maserati can. With a 345-hp, twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 , the 2014 Maserati Ghibli can boost you from zero-to-60 mph in just 5.5 seconds , and hit a top speed of a jaw-dropping 165 mph. The sporty dynamics include rear-wheel drive, and eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, double-wishbone front suspension, a five-arm multilink system at the rear to combine performance with drivability and comfort, and five operating modes: Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and I.C.E. (Increased Control & Efficiency). In terms of gorgeous styling, the 2014 Maserati Ghibli has that in spades. Of course, there is the distinctive, elongated nose and bold Maserati grille. The classic oval shape of the grille has been given more of a rectangular form, which better matches with the aggressive front headlights. The long wheel base is gracefully accentuated by the frameless door windows, and the side curves along the body bend into pronounced fender arches and the tapered trunk. Overall, the new Maserati Ghibli offers you the exciting sport design of a coupe, but the room and convenience of a sedan. Inside the Maserati Ghibli, there are more unmistakable earmarks of Maserati craftsmanship and luxury. All the finest materials and driver-centered controls. The clean, modern design of the instrument panel provides you unmistakable data at a glance, and the 8.4 inch Touch Control display easily puts you in command of a full range of onboard entertainment technology, including the Bowers & Wilkins 16-channel, 1280-watt, 15 speaker sound system. Famous Fans What does all of this mean for you? It means that the 2014 Maserati Ghibli will provide you with the perfect blend of a no-holds-barred, unabashed Italian sports car, with a refined and legendary luxury vehicle. The Concept Maserati Alfieri

Few things are more exciting in the world of luxury cars than the announcement of a concept turned new model and nowhere is this truer than in (hopefully) pending announcement of the upcoming Maserati Alfieri. Whether cruising the beautiful coasts of Cape Coral, FL or taking in a day of high end shopping in Naples, FL, the upcoming Maserati Alfieri is the perfect luxury car to do it in. The Maserati Alfieri, named after Maserati founder Alfieri Maserati, is certain to embody the trademark qualities of the Maserati vehicle lineup, including power, speed, and beauty. First shown at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, this stunning luxury car concept celebrates the automaker’s 100 year anniversary. more Maserati Alfieri: The Details Being that it is a concept car, we have an inkling as to what the luxury car will look like, but of course we won’t know the final body styling or interior and exterior features until the Maserati Alfieri is officially released, a process that can take years even after the vehicle is announced for actual production. That said, the Maserati Alfieri concept is based on the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradele and features a V8 engine like only a Maserati can. The V8 engine isn’t just any V8 it’s a 4.7L naturally aspirated V8 engine that develops 460 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and an impressive 520 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm. Beyond what’s under the hood, the Maserati Alfieri concept features a long, swooping hood line that leads to a front-end grill, classic sporty proportions with a short back end with a grand curve over the cabin, artfully carved side emphasis lines, and 20-inch front wheels with slightly larger 21-inch wheels flanking the rear. Bi-Xenon headlamps, a carbon fiber front spoiler and rear diffuser featuring aluminum inserts, iconic triple air ducts, and decorative wheel spokes all speak to the well planned, brilliantly orchestrated detail of this vehicle. The Maserati Alfieri concept features a blue Alfieri signature on its rear; rumors have it that this signature is constructed of archived Maserati materials, a touch that many would consider touching and brilliant in celebrating Maserati’s 100 years as a top luxury car brand. The interior is handmade and carries on the expert stylings from the vehicle’s exterior, from leather seats; dash; and central console to an oxidized-steel like material that carries accents throughout, a two-tone dashboard, and other aluminum accents. In short, everything about the interior screams luxury, sport, and style. Hopefully Coming Soon To Naples, FL Thankfully, as it goes with the Maserati Alfieri, all signs point to a likely confirmation that the luxury car will be entering production – great news to drivers in Fort Meyers, FL, Naples Fl, Cape Coral, FL and beyond. Recent weeks have brought a flurry of news headlines pointing to rising industry murmurs of an upcoming announcement confirming that the Maserati Alfieri concept will move to production. The Maserati Assembly Plant - If The Maserati Brothers Could See Us Now

Three hundred and eighty miles north of Naples, Italy is the town of Modena, home of the Maserati manufacturing center. Modena has served as host to the Maserati brand since 1940 and from the exterior it appears that very little has changed at the plant. The old brick buildings look like, well old brick buildings. The new buildings, like the four story new car parking lot, also look like old brick buildings, intentionally. But when you step inside those old brick buildings it's like stepping into a new dimension. It starts in the reception area that features an elevated big "blue loop" that mimics the Maserati oval and serves as a display stand for every model Maserati builds. The walls are covered in Maserati memorabilia from the past 100 years and there is even a retail shop that offers up Maserati gear. This reception area is the finest Maserati showroom you will ever see. When you step into the assembly area your first impression will be one of light and almost clinical cleanliness. It's an assembly line facility and it sounds like an assembly line facility (except for the Italian pop music that is piped in throughout the facility) but it looks like a lab from the future. The old brick exterior is hiding a highly advanced industrial interior. Maserati Assembly-Part Man, Part Machine, Part Magic The assembly process is an orchestrated blend of old world craftsmanship, skilled automotive technicians, robotic assistance and computerized management. Make no mistake, it is the talented Italians who build these beauties the robotics and computerized logistics just make the job easier for them. The most prominent feature of the assembly lines is the overhead robotic cradles that lift, move and lower the Maserati shells down the line. The cradles can tilt the shells up to 900 to make access easier and to provide for more efficient installation of parts. Each model has its own line but they all use the same "25 minute" task method. The assembly process is broken down into tasks that can be accomplished in 25 minutes or less. Each task pad is manned by the craftsmen and technicians for that particular task and the parts required for that individual vehicle are sorted and delivered by computer. When 25 minutes are up the cradle lifts the vehicle and moves it to the next pad. The end result is that every model that Maserati makes, the GranTurismo, the all new Ghibli and the flagship Quattroporte roll off the assembly line every 25 minutes. What magic is involved you ask? When that twin turbocharged V6 or V8 engine is started and that banshee wail comes out of the exhaust pipes you'll have your answer. Once the cars come off the line they begin a series of exhaustive tests to ensure each one is ready for delivery. Fastest Growing Brand In North America There's a reason that Maserati wants a new car every 25 minutes. Maserati has become the fastest growing brand in the U.S, and the introduction of the new Ghibli ensures that trend will continue. Modena is some 5,094 miles from that "other" Naples, the one we call home, so there is an issue of getting enough Maseratis to dealers to keep up with demand. At Naples Luxury Imports we are lucky enough to have a good inventory of GranTurismos, Quattroportes and Ghiblis but if you live in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Estero, Bonita Springs or Naples and you're interested in the unique driving experience that Maserati provides we encourage you to browse our inventory and then visit us while we still have a great choice of vehicles.
